Propane Refills on Monument Blvd, Cheaper Than Exchange
Refilling Your Propane Tank Beats Exchanging It
If you've been grabbing a Blue Rhino or AmeriGas exchange tank at the grocery store, you're probably leaving propane — and money — on the table. Exchange programs typically give you 15 lbs of propane in a 20 lb tank. When you refill, you get a full fill. That difference adds up fast when you're running a grill all weekend or keeping an RV topped off for a road trip.
Who We Refill For
We refill a wide range of cylinders at 1650 Monument Blvd in Concord:
- Standard BBQ tanks (the 20 lb cylinder that sits under your grill)
- RV and camper cylinders — common sizes from 20 to 40 lbs
- Food truck and catering tanks — larger cylinders, filled by weight for accuracy
- Smaller portable tanks for camp stoves and tabletop grills
We fill by weight, not by a timer or a rough estimate. That means you're paying for exactly what goes in, and you leave with a genuinely full tank.
How Much Does a Propane Refill Cost?
A typical 20 lb BBQ tank runs about $18–$22 to refill, depending on current propane prices. Compare that to $24–$28 for an exchange tank that's only 75% full. On a single fill you might save $8–$10. Over a summer of grilling, that's real money.
Quick Q&A
Q: Do I need to call ahead for a propane refill?
A: No. Walk-ins are welcome any time during business hours. Just pull up to the propane station on site and we'll take care of it. Most fills take under 10 minutes.
A Few Things to Know Before You Come In
- Tanks must have a current OPD valve (the triangular handwheel). Most tanks made after 2002 already have one.
- If your tank is past its stamped recertification date (12 years from manufacture, then every 5 years), we may not be able to fill it — but we can tell you on the spot.
- Bring the tank outside your vehicle — propane cylinders can't be filled while inside a car or truck bed enclosure.
